Core Responsibilities

• Monitor potential threats and maintain tactical awareness during all operations.
• Operate and coordinate the USS Navigator’s shields, phasers and torpedo systems.
• Advise the Commanding Officer on defensive options, rules of engagement and tactical risk.
• Coordinate with Security during intruder alerts, boarding incidents and away-team support.
• Work with Flight Control and Operations to position the ship effectively during hostile encounters.
• Maintain weapons readiness, tactical sensors and defensive system integrity.
• Support de-escalation whenever possible while remaining prepared to protect the ship and crew.

Role During Live Missions

During live missions, the Tactical Officer tracks threats, manages the Navigator’s defensive systems and provides Command with clear tactical options. They balance the need to protect the ship with Starfleet’s preference for restraint and de-escalation, while coordinating closely with Flight Control, Operations and Security. The role suits a player who enjoys fast decisions, situational awareness and high-pressure teamwork.
