Core Responsibilities

• Conduct specialist research within an approved scientific discipline.
• Support the Chief Science Officer with analysis, experiments and interpretation.
• Investigate unusual phenomena, samples and discoveries encountered during missions.
• Prepare reports and recommendations based on specialist findings.
• Operate relevant laboratory equipment, probes and research systems.
• Join away teams when specialist scientific expertise is required.
• Coordinate with Medical, Engineering and Operations when discoveries affect the ship or crew.

Role During Live Missions

During live missions, the Science Specialist contributes detailed expertise within their chosen field. They may analyse samples, interpret sensor readings, conduct experiments or join an away team when specialist knowledge is needed. The role suits a player who enjoys focused investigation, collaborative problem-solving and helping the wider crew understand the unknown.
