Mission Synopsis

The newly assembled crew of the USS Navigator gathers at Earth Spacedock for the vessel’s formal dedication. With senior Starfleet officers, dignitaries and family members in attendance, Admiral T’Lara presents the Odyssey-class Command Explorer as a symbol of Starfleet’s renewed purpose in 2401.

Following the ceremony, the crew begins making first introductions and takes its initial steps aboard the ship that will become both workplace and home. The celebrations are interrupted by a minor fluctuation in the Navigator’s secondary EPS grid, giving the officers their first opportunity to work together before the vessel has even left Spacedock.

What begins as a routine systems check may reveal an outdated calibration matrix buried within the ship’s final yard configuration. The fault appears harmless, but its presence raises questions about whether it was caused by simple oversight, pressure on Starfleet’s overstretched shipyards, or something more deliberate.

Once the anomaly is resolved, a priority signal arrives from Starfleet Command. The dedication is over. The Navigator’s first true mission is about to begin.

Crew Participation

Mission 000 is designed to introduce the USS Navigator’s principal crew and establish their first working relationships. Every participating officer will have opportunities to contribute through introductions, informal character interaction and the investigation of the EPS anomaly.

Engineering, Operations and Science personnel may lead the technical diagnosis. Command officers can coordinate the response and establish the crew’s working culture. Medical personnel may assess potential exposure risks, while Tactical and Security officers can determine whether the fault shows any evidence of interference or deliberate tampering.

The mission is intended as a collaborative beginning rather than a high-stakes crisis. Its purpose is to help players find their character voices, establish relationships and experience the live mission format before the Navigator begins active deployment.
