Core Responsibilities

• Lead the USS Navigator’s engineering department and coordinate its personnel.
• Maintain the warp core, impulse systems, power distribution network and structural systems.
• Diagnose faults and organise repairs during routine operations and emergencies.
• Advise Command on engineering limitations, risks and available technical solutions.
• Oversee damage control, emergency power and system recovery.
• Coordinate with Operations, Flight Control, Tactical and Science on shipwide technical requirements.
• Keep the vessel safe, efficient and ready for sustained deep-space service.

Role During Live Missions

During live missions, the Chief Engineer assesses damage, proposes technical solutions and advises Command on what the ship can safely achieve. They coordinate repairs, manage competing power demands and help turn unusual scientific or tactical problems into practical engineering responses. The role suits a player who enjoys technical problem-solving, teamwork and remaining calm while systems fail around them.
